Ipress.am: The Artsakh Foreign Minister did not rule out that Azerbaijan is selling organs of captives of the war

“What is happening in Azerbaijan with our prisoners of war is a gross violation of international humanitarian law,” Artsakh Foreign Minister Davit Babayan told. “All this is terrorism and banditry at the highest state level.”

The international community must respond to this situation and give its assessment, but we should not have too high expectations in this issue either. We have to keep working on this issue with various international organizations. “What Azerbaijan is doing is a gross violation of international humanitarian law. It is possible that our captives are being tortured and treated inhumanely there,” Babayan said.

According to the Artsakh Foreign Minister, the incident that took place yesterday also hit the peacekeeping mission.

“It is clear that yesterday’s incident was not an accident, it was part of a well-thought-out plan. “Azerbaijan never does anything by accident,” he said.

To the question how reliable the information is that the Azerbaijanis are selling the organs of the captured citizens, the Artsakh Foreign Minister answered that it cannot be ruled out.

“I want to emphasize that the international community must make every effort to free our captives, prisoners of war from Azerbaijani captivity,” Babayan stressed.
