Philipps Marburg University of Germany has released 3P (Prosecution, Protection, Prevention) Anti-trafficking Policy Index 2013 report in which rankings of 188 countries are presented according to 3 P system. The evaluation of the anti-trafficking policy worldwide shows that anti-trafficking policy efforts actually declined last year, despite overall improvements for the previous 15 years.
Fortunately, it doesn’t refer to Armenia. In the fight against human trafficking Armenia is in the list of high-ranking countries (see the 9th page of the report). Among the three policy dimensions (prosecution, protection, and prevention) evaluated by the 3P Index, the decline is most evident in the prosecution policy for punishing perpetrators of human trafficking. Also, there was a noticeable decline this year in the protection policy advocating the human rights of victims of trafficking.
According to 3P dimensions Armenia is evaluated
Prosecution- 5(maximum score)
Protection- 4 scores
Prevention- 5 (maximum score)
Overall 3P- 14 scores from 15 possible ones.
