Another 3 days in anti-trafficking zone, or the reason thanks to which Armenia is in the first group to combat trafficking for already two years

25-27.07.2014
This time three-day anti-trafficking zone meeting was organized by the OSCE Office in Yerevan.

The aim of the meeting was development of implementation mechanisms of draft law on identification and assistance to the victims of trafficking in Armenia.

The meeting became special not only for the presence of state and non-governmental stakeholders, also because of the traditional “fierce” but at the same time constructive discussions between them.

This is a very subjective assessment provided by me-the director of “Association of Audio-Visual Reporters” NGO, who has not only followed the developments of events for more than three years, but has also actively participated in all discussions and documented all the memorable moments.

The agenda was so saturated that the participants did not have time and inclination to enjoy the pleasures of Aghveran resort and felt highly pleased with discussions and philosophical debates. There were almost no passive participants. Almost…

Information on the discussed issues, the guest speakers and presenters, provided solutions were given to the raised issues may be found in the attached documents.

I would mostly like to refer to the caring attitude of participants towards each other, the willingness to work together and build proper relations among themselves.

Being involved within the anti-trafficking field for already 12 years, I can definitely say that a unique working group has been formed, which selflessly fights for prevention of human trafficking and supports each victim to return to the society in a healthy state.

The most pleasant is not only that victims liberated from trafficking feel and appreciate above mentioned, but also authorities and international organizations do so.

In conclusion I would like to mention that anti-trafficking team of Armenia as much horrifying and intolerant is towards the traffickers, as willing and tolerant is towards the victims of trafficking.

And it is not accidental that the group of Armenia fighting against human trafficking with his caring and heart posture celebrated July 30th – the World Day against Trafficking in Persons announced by the UN.
