Law protection of Trafficking victims’ Clarification for the representatives of Aragatsotn and Kotayq provinces

On 17 of September AAVR team organized a workshop for public and private sector professionals, who are involved in labor and employment spheres of Aragatsotn and Kotayq provinces. The workshop was organized for trusteeship and guardianship centers’ and employment agencies’ professionals of Nor Hachn, Kotayk, Tsaghkadzor , Yeghvard, Abovyan, Charentsavan, Byureghavan, Aparan and Talin cities. The workshop was held in Abovyan city. During the workshop the experts spoke about the support of victims, the exploration of people, personal data protection and about the support programs for the victims of human trafficking. It was also discussed about the skills and behavior of any person who faced a trafficked victim, in order  not to harm him/her, taking into consideration all his/her psychological complexes. By the help of queries, discussions, and team-work exercises it was clear that the participants of the seminar concern about this pest and are ready to combat Human Trafficking with joint efforts. Myths & Misconceptions about human trafficking

To effectively combat human trafficking, each of us needs to have a clear “lens” that helps us understand what human trafficking is. When this lens is clouded or biased by misconceptions about the definition of trafficking, our ability to respond to the crime is reduced. It is important to learn how to identify and break down commonly-held myths and misconceptions regarding human trafficking and the type of trafficking networks that exist in the United States.

Anti-Trafficking Working Group’s meeting on the eve of World Day against Trafficking in Persons

From 29 to 31 July, 2016 with the support of OSCE’s Office, the regular meeting of the Anti-trafficking working group was launched in Tsakhkadzor.
The agenda included subjects directed to planning activities in the frames of combating against trafficking issues in Armenia, as well as the discussions, targeted researches and analysis of the reports made by International Organizations.
After the welcoming speech the Head of the Working Group V. Kazhoyan gave the floor to N. Asatryan, (the Representative of the International Organization for Migration (IOM)), who presented ” Detection of the Counteracting Gaps and Needs Assessment of Human Trafficking in South Caucasian Countries” program, which was implemented by IOM.
During the discussion of the new Trafficking in Persons (TIP) report of US State Department (published in July 1, 2016) was marked that due to Anti-Trafficking Working group investment Armenia has taken place in the first group countries already for the fourth consecutive year. Read More
