Discussion Held on the 2026–2028 National Action Plan Against Trafficking

Strengthening coordinated prevention, victim support and protection and criminal prosecution in combatting trafficking was the focus of consultation on the draft National Action Plan for Combating Human Trafficking and Exploitation in Armenia (2026–2028), developed with the support of IOM.

Held on February 3, the meeting was jointly convened by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and IOM Armenia.

Opening the meeting, Deputy Minister Tatevik Stepanyan reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to a coordinated approach, which IOM continues to support.

The event brought together representatives from government institutions, international partners, and civil society, as well as the Inter Agency Working Group on Trafficking in persons.

The meeting was a milestone event supporting the progress of the MLSA to ensure coordinated response to trafficking in persons, ahead of the finalization and validation stage of the National Action Plan.

The event was held under the “Combatting Trafficking in Persons in Armenia: Improving Victim Identification and Referral Systems” project funded by the IOM Development Fund.
