A criminal case has been filed by the citizens of China (officially People’s Republic of China (PRC)) upon initial agreement, in RA Investigation Committee for the trafficking crime committed in Yerevan. This information is given by the RA Investigation Committee’s Public outreach department.
As per the investigation information, two citizens of China have been recruited with the fake promise of acquiring a high paid job of massage services, further been smuggled from China to Yerevan in October 2014 for sexual exploitation purposes.
The victims have been kept in a hotel at Leningradyan Street, Yerevan, and up until December 9th have been subjected to sexual exploitation.
Following the incident, a lawsuit has been filed on December 10th (according to the RA legislation, Article 132, Part 2nd with the 1 and 2 paragraphs). The same day, 2 China citizens have been arrested upon the agreement of several witnesses based on the suspicions for commission of sexual exploitation of two and more individuals (RA Criminal Code, Article 132, Part 2, Paragraphs 1 and 2paragraphs) and for the abetting the crime (RA Criminal Code, Article 38-132, Part 2, Paragraphs 1 and 2)
