The Turkish Foreign Ministry “strongly denies” the claims of the US State Department report that Turkey is involved in child trafficking and the recruitment of minors to participate in military conflicts.
“It is regrettable that Turkey’s significant efforts to prevent human trafficking have been ignored, and Turkey has been included among the countries recruiting child soldiers,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in response to the State Department’s Trafficking 2023 report.
Ankara believes that the issue of human rights is politicized in the report, and has promised to respond to “that slander”, which does not correspond to the spirit of cooperation between Ankara and Washington.
